Teaching “More” Command.

You're probably ran into the problem not one and twice while working on the ground or under saddle on how to explain to your horse to continue doing what she’s been doing or to continue moving at the same pace? Using a whip or stirrups this is a simple but physical influence on the horse and it is not always desirable or convenient way to communicate. Moreover, if you were using the whip to dictate the rhythm, and one of a sudden stopped doing it – this may confuse your horse, and it may decide that the exercise if over and return to the starting position of the exercise.

The way out of this is very simple. Teach your horse a command “More”. it is a mental command. Be logical, use the command "More" if you really want to repeat the previous action of the horse. Your student should clearly understand that it is a universal command and it applies not to any particular exercise, but to absolutely any exercise or pace, stretching exercises and so on, and the meaning of the command is to repeat what was done in the moment or repeat the entire action. While teaching your horse any exercise, be sure to occasionally use "More" command and praise your horse well. This will really give a proper incentive for the horse to perform the task again and better than the first time. One note - use "More" only when the horse deliberately does something, otherwise she would not understand what needs to be repeated. You have the right to speak the command "More" many times, but accustom your horse to this gradually. Also, it is not necessary to repeat "more-more-more." One command - one execution. Your horse needs to know and clearly understand that after the command "More", sooner or later, the big praise will follow, so don’t be shy on the compliments! - Then your student will try to his best every time.

Now therefore: Use "More" for each exercise, whether you are working on.

Do not forget that "More" means to repeat what has just been done. You can change the interval of exposure, it turns out as if the mental "mixture" And you can ask for "More" after the entire exercise Many of you have successfully used the clicker training method for horses. You probably know that there are two buttons clickers out there with different sounds. One button for the command "Continue", and the second button is to stop the exercise. So the command "More" can completely replace the button-continuation of the clicker. The command can we used in the very wide situations and horses understand it very well, so use it wisely and enjoy the happy learning!
